Love Must Give of Itself

By Baroness de Hueck

A bell is no bell till you ring it.
A song is no song till you sing it.
The love in your heart was not put there to stay.
Love is not love till you give it away...

-------
Look at the world nowadays...
It's been like in the old days of Noah.
Wickedness, unrighteousness -- so much violence!
So many are killed, injured, and left destitute.
Wives are left widowed, children are left orphaned.
The innocents and the helpless suffer the worst.

Dry dead bones littering dormant under the heat.
Seeds of violence falling on hatred-fertilized grounds.
The tears of the afflicted water these deadly seeds.
And when they grow, violence multiplies even more.

Has the sky shut close and the living waters dried up?
Is the earth severely dry, and so arid, and sterile?
Has it become desperately thirsty and so hungry?
Why is it now drinking the blood of the generations?
Why is it now swallowing the souls of the nations?

Oh God, where is this thing called Love?
If it really is true, teach the world the way.
For afterall, it is the reason for life's existence.
If God is Love, then that Love is of God.

Cause nations to walk the True Way of Love;
So that we may conquer our true enemy...
Our own wickedness -- our sinful nature.
Teach us how to conquer the enemy inside of us;
For inside our individual selves lies the real battle.
