As It Was Spoken, It Shall Be Unto You

Be It Unto Me
By Don Moen

Chorus:

Be it unto me
According to your Word
According to your promises
I can stand secure
Carve upon my heart
The truth that sets me free
According to your Word O Lord
Be it unto me

(Repeat Chorus)

I:

You promised your blood will deliver

Lord, we believe it's true
You promised us joy like a river
Lord we receive it from you
These things you have spoken
And you're bringing to pass
This world's disappearing
But your word will last... so...

(Repeat Chorus)

II:

You promised to carry our sorrow

Lord, we believe it's true
You've promised unending tomorrow
Lord, we receive them from you
You'd be our provider
In your word it's revealed
And by the stripes that you bore
Lord we have been healed... so...

(Repeat Chorus)

According to your Word O Lord
Be it unto me

----------
What was spoken not too long ago has now started to unfold. But fear not, for it must come to pass to usher in the next season and then things will fall in place according to their appointed times.

The Spider And The Fly

by Mary Howitt

"Will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly;
"'Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you may spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show when you are there."
"Oh no, no," said the little fly; "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."

"I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high.
Well you rest upon my little bed?" said the spider to the fly.
"There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets fine & thin,
And if you like to rest a while, I'll snugly tuck you in!"
"Oh no, no," said the little fly, "for I've often heard it said,
They never, never wake again who sleep upon your bed!"

Said the cunning spider to the fly: "Dear friend, what can I do
To prove the warm affection I've always felt for you?
I have within my pantry good store of all that's nice;
I'm sure you're very welcome - will you please to take a slice?
"Oh no, no," said the little fly; "kind sir, that cannot be:
I've heard what's in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!"

"Sweet creature!" said the spider, "you're witty and you're wise;
How handsome are your gauzy wings; how brilliant are your eyes!
I have a little looking-glass upon my parlor shelf;
If you'd step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself."
"I thank you, gentle sir," she said, "for what you're pleased to say,
And, bidding you good morning now, I'll call another day."

The spider turned him round about, and went into his den,
For well he knew the silly fly would soon come back again:
So he wove a subtle web in a little corner sly,
And set his table ready to dine upon the fly;
Then came out to his door again and merrily did sing:
"Come hither, hither, pretty fly, with pearl and silver wing;
Your robes are green and purple; there's a crest upon your head;
Your eyes are like diamond bright, but mine are dull as lead!"

Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little fly,
Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by;
With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer grew,
Thinking only of her brilliant eyes and green and purple hue,
Thinking only of her crested head. Poor, foolish thing! at last
Up jumped the cunning spider, and fiercely held her fast;
He dragged her up his winding stair, into the dismal den -
Within his little parlor - but she ne'er came out again!

And now, dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly flattering words I pray you ne'er give heed;
Unto an evil counselor close heart and ear and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale of the spider and the fly.

----------
Who's the fly? Who's the spider?
Is the one who deceives, a spider?
Is the one who is deceived, a fly?

Yet why are there flies who think they are spiders?
They have quick wings and big eyes, but they wove webs.

And why are there spiders who live like flies?
They've got quick legs and strong silk threads,
yet they love to feed on rot.

Choose To Listen And Believe

Voice of Truth
By Casting Crowns

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth tells me a different story
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
If I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

And the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth said "This is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe...

I will choose to listen and believe... the voice of truth

I... I will listen and believe...
'Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth.

----------
It's not about you; it's about what you're entrusted with.
Despite the seeming difficulty you are encountering,
Be honest and good steward you were anointed to be,
And you'll still succeed in the task you're entrusted with,
Just choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.
